About the Masterclass |
Samantha Falzdeen will lead this Masterclass in understanding children’s behavior as a way of communicating their needs and wants. Samantha will discuss how parents and teachers can help children find effective ways of communicating deep emotions and feelings through the expressive arts, as well as exploring how educators can work through their fears and self-limiting beliefs to become facilitators of great creative arts programs.

Samantha has had a wide and varied career spanning 25 years and containing experiences in education at all levels, working with children and adults in teaching and learning, with the government as an assessor, regulator and tertiary program advisor and in the corporate sector as an executive manager. She has a strong sense of justice and sees her role not just as an educator and manager, but as an advocate for those whose voice is often lost in the hyperbole of management and policy. Samantha has qualifications in secondary, primary and early childhood education, she also holds qualifications in musical theatre and business. Her passion is helping people to understand children and how they make sense of the world and learn. A circle of security facilitator, Samantha teaches educators and parents to understand children’s behavior as a way of communicating their needs and wants. She enjoys the way all these elements come together in her current work creating exciting programs for young children and developing early educators. Samantha loves to help children find effective ways of communicating deep emotions and feelings through the expressive arts and to see educators work through their fears and self-limiting beliefs to become facilitators of great creative arts programs.
