Playing Period Plays with Kayte Borg

13th Aug 2018 HOLIDAY PROGRAMSMASTER CLASSES

Understand verse forms, the effect of costume and culture on movement and characterisation. Unravel context and meaning from period pieces. This workshop focuses on the Elizabethan and Restoration period and the vast differences between the two neighbouring periods. Using modern acting approaches to discover how to best prepare for your role and bring these characters and periods to life.

This masterclass is a part of our ATCL Diploma Professional Development Series which provides opportunities for young, enthusiastic performers in the ATCL Pre-Diploma and Diploma program to engage with industry professionals. Students explore a range of sophisticated forms of theatre and effective communication training.

Due to the relevant content of the Playing Period Plays workshop, we invite non-diploma students to take part as a support to Period work in curriculum subjects such as English, History or Drama.
